Glennybears

Welcome to the Glennybears website, my name is Ankie Van Haastert.

I started making bears in Holland in 1996. After we decided to emigrate I wanted to make goodbye presents for the people I worked with. The bears ended up looking cute but primitive so I took a bear making course for I really enjoyed creating them. Starting that, I couldn't stop and have been making bears ever since. I started designing, using different materials and experimenting.

That developed into the Glennybears. The name came after a friend of mine, Glen, was the first one to really appreciate my bears. Later on, people started asking me if I could make bears out of materials that had sentimental value and that's how the memory bears started.

I work from home and have an amazing studio there, with lots of bears that cheer me on.
